Hershey's Kisses, Godiva Gems, Oreos, and Russel Stover Chocolates are all on my desk. I am seriously contemplating eating one, or two, or three, or more of them. Chocolate is a very interesting substance. Made from milk and cocoa beans, it has a very indulging taste and smell. Almost everyone loves chocolate. Well, except for my grandma. She hates it. She doesn't like Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, White Chocolate, Fudge Chocolate, Devil's Food Chocolate, Chocolate pie, Chocolate Shake, German Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Hot Chocolate, Chocolate Soda, Chocolate Bunnies, Chocolate Santas, nor Triple-Duple Fudge Milk Chocolate infused Dark Chocolate Brownies. Ok, I made the last one up. But you must admit they would be pretty delicious. Anywho, the whole ideal behind chocolate is to make yourself happy. Happiness is one thing a college student needs.
You have no idea how many kids around here I see all depressed and moping around. It's pathetic! Now, I do understand that Spring Sing is currently going on. Of course everyone is tired and just ready for it all to be over, but must you make those of us not in this phenomenal show depressed too? It's unjust! Well, Spring Sing is in fact awesome...no...more than awesome...more like...so amazing I can't put it into words? Every single club worked hard...except possibly for Delta...but the rest worked a lot on their shows and they definitely deserve chocolate. So, if any Spring Sing person wants chocolate, I have an entire bag of Hershey's Kisses right here. First Come- First Serve.
Just in case you will not be able to see the show- i.e. my mom- here is the show in a nutshell. The theme this year was ReRun- a look at television shows through the years. The hosts were amazing and I happen to know three of them! Every show deals with a television show or channel. The following is a summery of each club (though I doubt I can express the awesomeness that happened on stage!) :
Alpha- The Ninja Turtles. Their show was like a television show on stage except it was made into a musical. The costumes, I must say, were very impressive. The harmonies were also very crisp. The best part I think was probably when the fight scene happened. Wicked moves man!
Theta- Ms. Theta (America). Lovely dresses in blue and red and so adorable. The lyrics were very cute and expressed a good knowledge of being a dumb blonde. Now they did dis Texas which made me very upset but I'm ok now. Still, a very cute classy show.
Delta- Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. This was the least put together show. From what I hear Delta does this every year so the lack of practice was no surprise. They all wore the classic sweater and sang of the show and of it's characters. They made Mr. Roger's a zombie at the very end...it was comical...but wrong on so many levels. Their poster though, was most likely the best. The portrayal of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood was absolutely lovely.
Pi- The History Channel finds Cleopatra. They were all in cleopatra outfits and looked very Egyptian. They played out the life of Cleopatra and focused on her powerful beauty and ruling manner. Good job portraying Cleo and her life.
Chi- Godzilla. Epically awesome. The dinosaur outfits were so adorable. From the blurb to the official Chi move, the show rocked. Literally. And the Japanese kid could sing! That made me happy. Anyways, The songs and harmonies were pretty tight and it was totally awesome. Definitely in my top 3.
Lambda- Monday Night Football. Who knew girls could play football? The "passes" and "touchdowns" made this club just like a real football team. The outfits showed their true colors and the sidelines featured footballesque items. Great lyrics and good enthusiasm.
Psi Epsilon- The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Psi featured the Red and Blue power rangers and their show had just as much enthusiasm for fighting evil as the television show did. Overall, a very interesting show.
Gamma- The Minnie Mice. So adorable and so classy. The outfits would have made Minnie proud. The lyrics focused on Mickey and Minnie's dilemma of being in a relationship with a mouse for so long. The best part for me was the blackout scene and all the Minnie hands glowed in the dark. Gamma, you made Minnie Mouse proud.
Freshmen- Blues Clues. The Freshmen this year had intense choreography and sweet outfits. Steve and Blue search for the clues with the help of Salt and Peppa and Mailbox! Their show was really cute and their lyrics made Blues Clues comical and enjoyable for an adult audience.
Iota- The Travel Channel Tourists. Oh, Iota, where did y'all get all of those fanny packs? Iota did a wonderful job portraying tourists across the globe. Each song focused on a different travel spot. From New York to Egypt, the tourists travelled the globe with Hawaiian shirts and sunscreen. One of the best parts was at the very end. "Will you take our picture?!" Great job!
Kappa- The Kappa Kops. I might have just saved the best for last. Kappa's show was epicly amazingness. The Kappa Kops patrolled OC and caught the bad guys with their lyrics, fashionable outfits, and of course- their donut! Kappa's show had not only their signature move but also great harmonies. Their show might have been the best in my opinion, but I could just be saying that just to keep myself out of jail...
Overall, Spring Sing went above and beyond my expectations. It was entertaining and was awesome in every way. The show has three more performances- tonight (Friday), and tomorrow (Saturday). If you get a chance, go and see one of these performances. It is definitely worth your time and money.
Anyways, that's all for now.
Keep singing and God bless!
